The Story of the Wayzn Smart Pet Door
Like many products, the Wayzn Smart Pet Door was invented out of necessity. The idea came to us on a snowy night on a ski trip to Lake Tahoe. We were talking about how much money we’d spent to board the dogs for two days, and Mike had a thought: What if we could use our phones to let our dogs out using our sliding patio doors when we weren’t home? It sounded like a good idea, so we decided to build a prototype, and people started asking for them!

So we took the plunge. We started the company because we wanted dogs everywhere to have access to the yard when their people weren’t home. We had a hunch that, like us, most pet owners didn’t want the security, weather, and installation headaches that come with the traditional dog door. We loved the idea of using a smartphone to control an existing sliding door because it solves all of the “pet door” problems and gives people the flexibility to go anywhere, anytime, and know their pets are OK.

We couldn’t be happier with how the Wayzn Smart Pet Door turned out. Now as Dog owners, we can let the dogs out from the couch or the car. We have the freedom to leave anytime without worrying about our dogs. And our dogs love it, too!
